Focus on LAW

Marshall T. "Marty" Cook concentrates his practice in the area of small business law, commercial litigation, employment litigation and premises liability litigation. He represents clients in all aspects of litigation, arbitration and mediation.

His commercial litigation practice ranges from representation of companies and individuals in contract and business disputes to defense of product manufacturers in product liability litigation. In the employment law context, Mr. Cook has experience enforcing non-compete contracts for employers and defending employers against claims of discrimination. In the product liability context, Mr. Cook has represented the manufacturers of all-terrain vehicles and conveyor belt systems.

Mr. Cook practices in both of the firm's offices, in Nashville and Hendersonville, Tennessee. He is a member of the Nashville, Sumner County and Tennessee Bar Associations.  He was appointed to the Tennessee Bar Association House of Delegates as District 18 - Sumner County representative.

Mr. Cook is currently on the Board of Directors for COMPASS, a non-profit which benefits Sumner County Schools.  He is on the Board of Directors for Leadership Middle Tennessee and a member of the Board of Directors for the United Way of Sumner County. Mr. Cook is a graduate of both the Leadership Sumner and the Leadership Middle Tennessee programs.

Mr. Cook received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Carson-Newman College, where he was a member of the football team and was also involved in the Student Government Association. Mr. Cook received his Juris Doctor from Cumberland School of Law, Samford University, where he received highest honors for his work in Professional Responsibility. Prior to joining Bone McAllester Norton, Mr. Cook practiced law with the Nashville firms of Lewis, King, Krieg & Waldrop, P.C. and Greenebaum, Doll & McDonald. Mr. Cook is a native of Hendersonville, Tennessee and resides there with his family.
