Focus on LAW

Keith C. Dennen concentrates his practice in the areas of healthcare law, intellectual property law, estate and probate, employment law, corporate and transactional law and litigation. Mr. Dennen received his Bachelor of Business Administration, magna cum laude, and his Juris Doctor from the University of Memphis. He received the State Board of Regents Scholarship and was a member of the Beta Gamma to Sigma Business Honor Society. He also received the Women's Auxiliary of the Memphis-Shelby County Bar Association Scholarship in 1986. He received the Corpus Juris Secundum Award and the West Hornbook Award and eight American Jurisprudence Awards recognizing academic excellence. In addition, he served on the University of Memphis Law Review.

From 1987 to 1988, Mr. Dennen served as a Judicial Clerk to the Honorable William H.D. Fones, Associate Justice of the Tennessee Supreme Court.

Mr. Dennen focuses a significant amount of his practice in the area of helath care and was recently selected as one of Nashville Business Journal's 2010 Health Care Heroes. He is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association. Since 1998, he has served on the Executive Board of the Nashville Medical Group Management Association. He is a charter member of the Sumner County Medical Group Management Association founded in 2006. Mr. Dennen is a graduate of the 2004 class of Leadership Middle Tennessee, and has served on the Board of Directors since 2006. In addition, he has served on the Board of Directors of the Sumner County YMCA since 2004, and is currently serving as Chairman of the Board.  

Mr. Dennen is a member of the Rotary Club of Hendersonville, Tennessee, and served as the Club's Sergeant-at-Arms and on the Board of Directors (2004-05). He also served on the Board of Directors of the Sumner Foundation (1998-2004) and of Forward Sumner Economic Council (2004-06).  Mr. Dennen served on the Board of Directors (1997-2001) and as President (1999-2000) of the Hendersonville Area Chamber of Commerce, and received the Chamber's Volunteer of the Year award in 1998.  He was also a member of the Board of Directors (2000-02) of the Hendersonville Chamber Foundation, and served as President of the Board in 2001.  Mr. Dennen served two terms (1998-99 and 2000-01) on the Board of Directors of the United Chambers of Commerce for Sumner County.  From 2001 to 2004, he served on the Board of Trustees of Davidson Academy, a private non-denominational school.

Mr. Dennen is a member of the Sumner County, Nashville and Tennessee Bar Associations. From 1993 to 1995, he served on the Governing Board of the American Bar Association's Forum on Franchising. He served as Chair of the American Bar Association/Young Lawyers Division's Committee on Ethics and Professionalism (1991-92),  and as Chair of the Tennessee Bar Association/Young Lawyers Division's Committee on Ethics and Professionalism, as well as the Publications Committee (1992-93). In 1993, he received the President's Distinguished Service Award from the Tennessee Bar Association/Young Lawyers Division.

Mr. Dennen is the co-author of "Conflicts of Interest and Imputed Disqualification: The Chinese Wall in Tennessee," published in the Tennessee Bar Journal. In addition, he is the co-author of "The Community Reinvestment Act: The Regulators Give It A New Emphasis" published in the Banking Law Journal. He served as Editor of the Tennessee Ethics Handbook, Second Edition and the Tennessee Local Rules of Court published by the Tennessee Bar Association.
