Bone said, “It’s an honor to receive this award, and I am so thankful to be surrounded by individuals who work every day to make our community a better place to live for everyone.”

The John C. Tune Public Service Award recognizes an NBA member who has demonstrated commitment to both to their profession and to the betterment of their community. It is considered the highest award presented by the NBA and, due to its significance, is presented not annually but when a deserving candidate is recognized.

Throughout his successful law career, Bone has served as a trusted adviser to countless clients seeking advice on corporate and litigation issues. He has been involved in a variety of community efforts and organizations.

Bone is also well-known for representing Cyntoia Brown in her bid for clemency after an original conviction of first-degree murder and life imprisonment. After nearly 10 years of tireless work by her pro bono legal team, Brown was released on parole in August of this year after then-Governor Bill Haslam commuted her sentence.
