Attorneys Marty Cook and Colten Jones of our Hendersonville office recently secured a significant victory for a construction company. Cook and Jones helped one of the company’s employees successfully defend a motion for a temporary injunction in Davidson County Chancery Court.
Our client, a local company that provides private and commercial construction and repair services throughout the country, had recently hired an employee who had been discharged from another company in the same field. The opposing company alleged that this violated the employee’s non-compete clause, which they argued was still enforceable under Tennessee law. As a result, the competitor sought significant money damages in addition to the injunction. However, due to Cook’s and Jones’ expertise, the client was able to preserve its worker’s employment in a quick but meaningful victory.
