Senior reporter Adam Sichko of the Nashville Business Journal takes a deeper dive with Bone to discuss his new appointment and MDHA’s new tax-increment financing (TIF) initiative. In the interview, “[Bone] describes the more prominent role he wants MDHA to embrace in addressing the shortage of affordable and workforce housing in Nashville, and his remarks also provide a window into how he will approach the coming debate about those developer incentives.”

Charles Robert Bone Appointed to New Metro Council Committee

Charles Robert Bone President CEO Attorney at Bone McAllester Norton Professional indexCharles Robert BoneBone McAllester Norton President and CEO Charles Robert Bone has been nominated by the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency (MDHA) to join Metro Council’s seven-person committee tasked with reviewing tax-increment financing. Metro Council approved the appointments on Oct. 16. Charles Robert Bone has served on MDHA’s Board of Commissioners since February 2016.

In September, Metro Council decided to form a new committee to study how the MDHA “utilizes tax increment financing and to formulate recommendations for its implementation in a more transparent, equitable, effective and understandable manner,” according to Bill BL2018-1315. The mission of MDHA is to create affordable housing opportunities, support neighborhoods, strengthen communities and help build a greater Nashville.
